Greetings from the Coach's Corner

I started my job as Head Coach of FC Cape Town immediately after my arrival in Cape Town.
I am very impressed with the conditions and facilities of the club, especially the club's headquarters, YEBO, and out new training and home ground at NNK Rugby Club.

The club's philosophy is also important as FC Cape Town wants to develop players according to the European standard.
It is important that the players achieve success with FC Cape Town and if they are ready for Europe, that we open doors for them in the same manner as done for Emmanuel Emmanike and Hassan Wassfa, last season.
Although it will be hard work, the challenge will be good for all associated with the club.

At the moment we will be concentrating on the Nedbank Cup, where we have a tough assignment in a derby against Ikapa Sporting.
We have worked hard on the technical-tactical and physical objectives of the team with a huge focus on the individual player.

Currently we have been training twice a day where the players are learning to be responsible and disciplined on and off the pitch.
We have also being using the GYM and have had a few sessions in the swimming pool as well.
Until now we have played four friendly games beating Chippa and Ikapa, 1-0 and 5-0, respectively while playing to a goalless draw with Santos and losing to Vasco 2-1.

I know and believe in the players' ability and can happily say that the team is prepared for the Nedbank Cup Competition.

With the exception of Darren Dicks, Ricardo Francisco and Elton Swartz, we have a full squad of players to choose from.

Till next time....

Your Coach
